BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The Buffalo Grove Police Department is once again participating in the "Toys for Tots" campaign, a charitable initiative started by the United States Marine Corps to benefit local children in need during the holiday season.
Toys for Tots officially began in 1991 and has grown significantly, allowing the Marine Corps to donate millions of toys each year. The Police Department has served as a collection site for new and unwrapped toys for several decades, according to a news release.
