Buffalo Grove Rotary Seeks Nominations For 2025 Bill Reid Award
The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove is accepting nominations through April 13 for its annual community service award.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove is seeking nominations for the 2025 Bill Reid Award, an annual honor that recognizes long-term community contributors in Buffalo Grove. According to an announcement from the Village of Buffalo Grove, nominations must be received by Monday, April 13.
The club said the award is intended for people whose volunteer efforts have been "measurably involved in continuous community service endeavors of a substantial nature and duration." The announcement states that the award honors people whose work has contributed to the "enhancement, betterment and improved spirit of the Buffalo Grove community."

The award is named for the late Bill Reid, a longtime village trustee and charter member of the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove. In the announcement, Reid is described as "Mr. Buffalo Grove." The club said there are "many unsung heroes in our community who could and should be recognized and honored for their long-term commitment to Buffalo Grove."
According to the announcement, the award recognition includes a public ceremony and presentation of a recognition plaque. It also includes a $250 contribution to the charity of the recipient's choice in the recipient’s name and a $250 contribution in the recipient’s name to The Rotary Foundation.

The recipient's name also will be inscribed on a permanent award recognition plaque at Buffalo Grove Village Hall, according to the announcement. The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove said the presentation will take place at an upcoming summer or fall Rotary lunch, event or community event.
The club is asking residents to complete and return a nomination form for candidates whose community service has had a sustained local impact. The announcement encourages residents to identify people whose long-term volunteer work has helped Buffalo Grove over time.
