Buffalo Grove Students Head Back To Class: Key 2026-27 Dates

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Summer break is winding down for Buffalo Grove students, with the first bells of the 2026-27 school year set to ring this month across three local school districts.

Students in Township High School District 214 return first, with classes beginning Wednesday, while students in Districts 102 and 96 begin Aug. 20.

Here are some of the key dates Buffalo Grove families should know:

Township High School District 214

• First Day: Aug. 12, 2026
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25 through Nov. 27, 2026
• Winter Break: Begins after classes Dec. 18, 2026; classes resume Jan. 6, 2027
• Spring Break: Begins after classes March 19, 2027; classes resume March 29, 2027
• Last Day: May 27, 2027

District 214 includes Buffalo Grove High School and serves students from Buffalo Grove and several surrounding communities. The district's official calendar lists the major attendance dates for the 2026-27 school year.

Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102

• First Day, Grades 1-8: Aug. 20, 2026, half day
• First Full Day, Grades 1-8: Aug. 21, 2026
