Buffalo Grove Woman Charged After Sending Lewd Photos to Boy: Sheriff

Bayleigh Hoyt met the 17-year-old while he was in custody at the Depke Juvenile Detention Facility in Lake County, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Buffalo Grove woman has been charged with official misconduct and distributing harmful material after police said she reportedly sent lewd photos to a 17-year-old boy. Bayleigh Hoyt, 28, of the 100 block of South Buffalo Grove Road, was arrested at her place of employment in Highland Park without incident, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Hoyt remains in the Lake County Jail pending a Wednesday court appearance.

Police said Hoyt met the boy while he was in custody at the Depke Juvenile Detention Facility in Lake County, and she was employed at the facility as a juvenile counselor. After the juvenile was discharged from the facility, the two reportedly began communicating with each other. During the communication, Hoyt began having lewd conversations with the boy, and sent him nude photos of herself.

According to police, Hoyt encouraged the boy to delete the messages and photos, as she did not want to get caught before resigning. Shortly after, Hoyt resigned from the juvenile facility before law-enforcement became aware of the situation.

An investigation was conducted by detectives from the LCSO. The Lake County States' Attorney's Office approved the charges.
