The League of Women Voters Deerfield/Lincolnshire &nbsp;is pleased to invite the public to our&nbsp;Defend Democracy Drop-In scheduled for April 29 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Deerfield Public Library, 920 Waukegan Road, Deerfield. &nbsp;Please join us to learn about the Wetlands Protection Act and other environmental &nbsp;measures currently being considered in the Illinois General Assembly. &nbsp;Then, follow-up by contacting your Illinois Legislators.

Emily Kowalski is the Associate Director of Environment Illinois,&nbsp;a policy and action group with one mission: to protect the natural world. &nbsp;She manages the marketing and public engagement strategy for campaigns that promote clean air, clean water, clean energy, wildlife and open spaces, and a livable climate.
Emily co-leads several statewide coalitions including the&nbsp;Protect Illinois Waters Coalition, that is advocating for the Wetlands Protection Act, and the&nbsp;Coalition for Plastic Reduction. &nbsp;
Emily has been working in the environmental advocacy and social change field since 2010. &nbsp;Over her career she has worked on college campuses as an environmental organizer, directed door-to-door citizen outreach offices and, immediately prior to her current role, was the administrative director for&nbsp;Environment America&nbsp;and&nbsp;PIRG.&nbsp;

It will be held on Friday, May 1st at 7pm (come early for Silent Auction) and Sunday, May 3rd at 2:00 pm (come early for Silent Auction).&nbsp; Our chorus has been singing 3 and 4 part harmony for over 25 years. Refreshments are also served free of charge. For an exhilarating experience, put this on your calendar and invite your family and friends. Tickets are only $15 for adults and free for children under age 12.&nbsp; Groups of 4 or more members from the same organization pay only $12 per person. They can be purchased at the door.
