Grand Island, NY - Athletes from the Vernon Hills, IL based Cohen Brothers Judo Center won their first junior team title at the 42nd Annual Am Can International Judo Challenge May 24 & 25, 2014. We had about 22 athletes competing and came out on top beating a very strong club from Quebec, Canada (who had over 40 athletes) by one point to win the junior team tournament. We also lost by 2 points to win the overall team tournament. We would have won, but unfortunately we had a few injuries and some of the kids had to pull out of their divisions.
We are so proud of everyone who came and fought. We truly have the strongest Jr. Club in the country.
