BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Davisha M. Reid, 21, of the 500 block of Lorraine Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended license, having tinted windows, improper transportation of cannabis, and was arrested at 10:54 a.m. March 9, in the 23000 block of Buffalo Grove Road. They were released after posting bond and assigned a court date of April 15.
  • Gladees I. Varas, 65, of the 2200 block of Morningside Circle, Carpentersville, is accused of driving on a revoked license, and was arrested at 9:33 a.m. March 9, in the 0-100 block of S. Buffalo Grove Road. They were released on bond and assigned a court date of April 15.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

Nancy Noah, 19, of the 1100 block of Auburn Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of aggravated battery of a peace officer, attempting to flee a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, speeding 35+ mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 5:52 p.m. March 12, at N. Arlington Heights and Checker roads. Noah was released on a $75,000 bond and was assigned a court date of March 23.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Oksoon Lee, 46, of the 0-100 block of Buckingham Place, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 9:15 p.m. March 13, at W. Lake Cook and Buffalo Grove roads. Lee was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of April 6.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED PROPERTY

A United States Postal Service supervisor reported at 3:54 p.m. March 7, a theft at the collection box at the Metra train station, 2700 block of N. Main Street. The supervisor told police that between March 5 and March 7, someone pried open the USPS collection box, causing damage to the locking mechanism and the door of the collection box. It was unknown at the time of the report whether there was any mail in the collection box at the time of the incident, but a mail carrier found the box empty March 7. Police were provided security footage from Vernon Township that showed three people feeling the scene in a gray Jeep.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

Police responded at 10:49 p.m. March 9, to a condo building in the 700 block of Weidner Road, for a report of a catalytic converter theft in progress. A resident, who had been out walking his dog, said he heard what sounded like power tools. He went to check the front of the building and found a vehicle with all the doors and trunk open. He saw four to five men, who eventually jumped in a car and took off. Police found a car with dangling wires near the engine, indicating the catalytic converter had been removed.

BURGLARY

An employee of a business on E. Lake Cook Road called police on March 10 to report someone had taken the catalytic converter from a company vehicle. The vehicle had been parked in a parking garage overnight. The person also entered the unlocked vehicle and took several items from inside.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

An S. Buffalo Grove Road resident reported at 5:11 p.m March 11, when they returned home, they found it had been burglarized. He had left for work at 7:15 a.m. earlier that day. He noticed one of his front window shades had been opened. He went to his bedroom and found some of his belongings on the bed. The resident did not know if anything had been stolen at the time of the report.

CUSTOMER/MANAGEMENT DISPUTE

  • A customer of Seoul Supermarket, 1200 block of W. Dundee Road, reported at 3:05 p.m. March 11, who said they were denied a purchase at the store and believed they were treated poorly. The customer said she attempted to buy two onions, but found the price too high. She told the cashier she only wanted one onion and attempted to buy it with a credit card. The cashier said the store would only take cash, which the customer said she didn't have. An argument ensued, and the customer left the store. Police discovered there was no sign in the store stating a minimum amount must be met for credit card purchases, and the store owner said they will make one.
  • A customer of a public storage company in the 500 block of E. Aptakisic Road reported at 3:03 p.m. March 11, that one of the employees was being rude to her and she wanted him to leave. The employee had been hired to move another customer's property from the complainant's storage unit. The customer confronted the employee about what he was doing at her property and said the employee was being defensive and rude. The employee told police the customer was the one being rude. The employee left the property.

VANDALISM

A St. Mary's Parkway resident reported at that during the overnight hours of March 14, someone threw eggs at their house. Police found eggshells near the front of the house and smashed eggs on a window.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A person called police at 5:19 p.m. March 15, to report she found her windshield damaged after it had been parked throughout the day on the northeast side of the parking lot by the tennis courts at Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 W. Dundee Road. The car owner said there had been a lot of cars parked near her car in the morning. After leaving a sports practice, she saw the damage. The windshield had a spider web cracking on the driver's side bottom corner.
