Duo Trespassed At Store After 4th Theft: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

The pair had been cited three previous times for retail theft at Woodman's Grocery, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

  • Police responded to the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21, for a report of two cars involved in a road rage incident. When police arrived to mediate the dispute, it was learned that one of the drivers had a suspended driver's license and he was arrested. The 54-year-old Deerfield resident was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 13.
  • Efren Mata, 30, of the 800 block of Dorman Drive, Streamwood, is accused of driving on a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, having no valid insurance, and was arrested at 1:36 a.m. Sept. 23, in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road. Mata was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 16.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Luis Alber Martinez Hernandez, 23, of the 4000 block of Bonhill Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, no driver's license, illegal stopping, disregarding a traffic light, and was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Sept. 24, at Buffalo Grove and Lake Cook roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 11.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A citizen called police at 5:46 p.m. Sept. 20, to report someone had entered her vehicle and stole various items while it was parked in the 1000 block of N. Buffalo Grove Road.

RETAIL THEFT

Police responded to Woodman's Grocery, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, at 8:33 p.m. Sept. 26, for a retail theft report. Police met with the two offenders, who store employees said had three previous receipts for retail thefts in addition to the incident on this day. Police issued adjudication citations and trespass warnings.
