
LONG GROVE, IL (NOVEMBER 19, 2011) — Fall is quickly coming to an end, and that only means one thing – the holiday season is almost here! The Village of Long Grove will host a traditional tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 19th at 4pm at Apple Haus Square. While there may not be snow on the ground yet, you can count on Long Grove to give you that holiday cheer!
There is going to be plenty of entertainment and family fun in addition to the lighting. Starting at noon, Belleek Pottery artist Colette Greene, will be signing her feature Belleek 2012 limited piece; the Celtic Lace Bowl at the Irish Boutique. From 2:30-4:30 pm, get in the holiday spirit and sing along with local carolers “The Holiday Jinglers.” At 3 pm, Santa will arrive with special Long Grove mascot, the Humbug for plenty of photo opportunities with the kids. In the meantime, head over to Beans & Leaves anytime between 3-5pm to listen to the sounds of Thomas Swensen. And, to cap the entertaining afternoon event, the honorary tree lighting will be set to the entertainment of the Long Grove Performing Arts Academy beginning at 3:30 pm, with the lighting occurring at 4 pm in front of Apple Haus Square.
