Fire Causes $100K In Damage, Home 'Uninhabitable' In Buffalo Grove

The cause of the Sunday night fire is under investigation.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Sunday night fire left a single-family home "uninhabitable" and caused $100,000 in damage, according to Buffalo Grove fire officials. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation.

Buffalo Grove firefighters were called to the blaze at around 8:27 p.m. in the 600 block of Checker Drive for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active fire in a second-floor bedroom.

Officials said five occupants were found outside in the driveway, who confirmed there were no others in the home. Two occupants were evaluated on scene by firefighter paramedics and released.
