Fire Displaces Family In Buffalo Grove: Fire Department

Residents returned home Thursday evening to find their house full of smoke, according to fire officials.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A family has been displaced following a Thursday night fire in the 2100 block of Brandywyn Lane. Buffalo Grove fire officials said there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation, according to a news release.

Residents returned home Thursday evening to find their house full of smoke. Firefighters were dispatched to a call at around 6:15 p.m., and discovered smoke and high heat levels throughout the house when they arrived at the scene.

Additional area fire departments were contacted to aid in fire suppression efforts and relieve fire personnel already there, with the origin and location of the fire unknown. In total, resources from eight area fire departments were used to bring the fire under control, according to the news release.

At the time of the fire response, there were also three vehicle crashes, two ambulance calls and a gasoline spill in Buffalo Grove. With Buffalo Grove Fire Department resources at the fire on Brandywyn Lane, those incidents were handled by other area fire departments.
