Firefighters Extricate Driver From Car In Buffalo Grove: Village

Eastbound Lake Cook Road was closed for approximately three hours early Saturday morning following the single vehicle crash.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Firefighters extricated a female from the car she was driving following a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the area of Lake Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard. She was freed from the car in approximately 10 minutes and taken to Condell Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.

The crash occurred at around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle had crashed into a large street light pole, with the driver was trapped inside. The 2012 Kia Rio was traveling eastbound on Lake Cook Road when it left the roadway and struck the pole east of Raupp Boulevard. Eastbound Lake Cook Road was closed for approximately three hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by police.
