Former Buffalo Grove Mayor Elliott Hartstein endorses Lincolnshire Attorney Susan Malter for Sente House Seat in 59th District

Former Buffalo Grove Mayor Elliott Hartstein announced today that he was endorsing Lincolnshire attorney Susan Malter for the seat he had earlier intended to run for in the 59th district before he decided to concentrate on addressing issues from outside the legislature.

Hartstein stated that after meeting with all three candidates who filed to run in the Democratic primary, “I concluded that Susan Malter exemplifies the type of candidate who i believe would best represent the district. He said”she is smart, independent thinking, committed to progressive reforms and has a strong record of long term compassionate dedication to stepping up and working to address people needs ranging from her setting up a non profit organization focused on education to fill the service gap for kids and families with health and social services to volunteering earlier this year to assist dreamers with DACA renewal applications and to resist Trump’s racist and illegal travel ban.”

Hartstein said”I was especially impressed with her knowledge on a wide range of issues, and her commitment to researching problems facing the state and pounding the pavement to listen and hear the concerns of residents in all corners of the district.from my conversations with her it is clear Susan is clearly a people person who will work well with people on both sides of the aisle to find solutions, and who will work tirelessly to implement real change like a more fair tax system and getting the redistricting out of the back rooms and into the sunshine with independent maps, and fighting for reasonable gun safety legislation .”
