Gas Leak Closes Thompson Boulevard In Buffalo Grove
The Village of Buffalo Grove had closed the street for 4 hours Monday to repair the leak.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — An active gas leak was reported at 11 a.m. Monday on the 500 block of Thompson Boulevard. Buffalo Grove police and fire were on the scene, according to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
Thompson Boulevard remained closed between Brandywyn Lane and Buffalo Grove Road, while crews investigated for around four hours. The Village has asked people to avoid the area.
The leak occurred during roadway removal operations by a contractor as part of an ongoing Thompson/Brandywyn road improvement project. Emergency services are directing traffic and residents to safety, which includes evacuating some of the closest surrounding homes, according to the Village. Emergency services will work closely with those impacted to ensure their safety. Both the Thompson/Brandywyn and Gail/Green Knolls projects have had to cease operations as a result of this gas leak. The gas company is mobilizing to repair the line as quick as possible.

Residents were asked that if they return home and smell gas, immediately leave the house and call 911 to have the Fire Department investigate.
