House Fire Displaces Residents In Buffalo Grove

Smoke and heat damage throughout the second floor of the home left it uninhabitable.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A fire that left a home uninhabitable last week remains under investigation. Firefighters were dispatched to the 300 block of Timber Hill at around 4:20 p.m. April 14, for a report of smoke in a fire outside a single-family home.

Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes and found fire in the two-story home. According to officials, the fire was spreading to the house next door. The alarm was upgraded once for additional assistance.

Companies quickly extinguished the fire outside that was spreading next door, while additional fire companies began an aggressive interior attack, searching for occupants. The fire was extinguished within approximately 30 minutes. No occupants were found, and no injuries occurred.
