Incorrect Absentee Ballots Sent to Some Wheeling Township Voters

Up to 42 voters in Wheeling Township could have been mailed a ballot for meant for a south suburb.

WHEELING TOWNSHIP, IL - A pre-election snafu may have left some early voters in Wheeling Township casting their ballot for candidates vying for seats in races in the south suburbs.

Officials from the Cook County Clerk’s Office told the Daily Herald a staffer accidentally mailed ballots marked “95-11” when they should have sent ballots marked “96-11” to some voters in Wheeling Township. The clerk’s office said up to 42 incorrect ballots could have been sent to local voters.

Those who may have received the ballot meant for voters in Thornton Township should send it back to the clerk's office and a new one will be mailed, according to the article.
