COOK COUNTY, IL — A Cook County judge has denied a motion by current Buffalo Grove Trustee David Weidenfeld to dismiss a suit filed by an opponent against Weidenfeld in April's local election, the Daily Herald reports. The suit challenges the election results after Soojae Lee lost by two votes to Weidenfeld who finished in third in the race for three open seats on the village board, according to the article.

The judge ruled Wednesday that Weidenfeld has 14 days to respond and ordered both men submit a joint proposed scheduling order by Dec. 6, according to the Daily Herald. A hearing has been set for Dec. 12.
