Lexus Left Dangling Over Retention Pond Wall Following Crash in Wheeling
An elderly man was taken to the hospital after suffering a medical episode that likely lead to the crash.

WHEELING, IL - An elderly man was taken to the hospital after he suffered a medical episode and drove his SUV over the wall of a basin, leaving his Lexus dangling from the wall of a Wheeling retention pond and partially submerged in the water, the Journal & Topics reports.
The crash happened at about 5:24 p.m. at the northwest corner of Palatine and Wolf roads when the Lexus struck two parked cars and a fire hydrant before driving over parking islands in the lot and then careening over the wall of the basin, according to the article.
The man, who is in his 80s, was pulling into the parking lot of the Korean Cultural Center when the crash occurred, according to Fox 32. Emergency crews had to work to stabilize the vehicle before they could get the man out. The man was then taken to an area hospital for treatment of a number of injuries.
