Man With Illegal Switchblade Knife Nabbed For Driving Violations: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
The Winnetka resident was arrested last week on Dundee Road, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

- Jessica N. Fernandez, 43, of the 100 block of N. Roy Avenue, Northlake, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended, and was arrested at 4 p.m. July 29, in the 800 block of Krouse Drive. A court date of Aug. 15 was assigned.
- Shemeka Adkins, 40, of the 1400 block of N. Maplewood Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended, driving with expired plates, and was arrested at 6:11 p.m. July 30, in the 700 block of Corporate Grove Drive. A court date of Sept. 12 was assigned.
- Brendon J. Velada, 25, of Everett, Washington, is accused of driving on a suspended license, failure to dim headlights, and was arrested at 11:51 p.m. Aug. 3, in the 20 block of N. Buffalo Grove Road. A court date of Sept. 12 was assigned.
UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON
Johnny Benitez, 33, of the 900 block of 9th Street, Winnetka, is accused of unlawful use of a weapon (possession of a switchblade knife), driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended, no front registration plate, and was arrested at 3:03 a.m. July 31, in the 1200 block of Dundee Road. A court date of Sept. 8 was assigned.
