Mariano's, Jewel: New Year’s 2021 Buffalo Grove Grocery Hours

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — New Year’s Day is fast approaching as Buffalo Grove residents prepare to say goodbye to yet another year dominated by the coronavirus pandemic.

While a surge in cases spurred by the fast-spreading omicron variant may cause some to rethink their New Year’s plans, others still may choose to go the extra mile to say goodbye to 2021 and ring in what they hope will be a better year to come.

While New Year’s Day typically doesn’t carry the culinary fanfare boasted by Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s a perfect excuse to host a festive brunch with your vaccinated friends or throw together a tasty New Year’s Day lunch for your family.

If you forgot the key ingredient for your famous quiche or simply need extra orange juice for mimosas, most grocery stores in Buffalo Grove will be open for the food and drinks you may have forgotten.

Here are the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day hours for the grocery stores in our town:

Woodman's: All locations are open midnight to 7:45 p.m. New Year's Eve, 9 a.m. to midnight New Year's Day.

Aldi: Stores will be open New Year’s Eve, but hours will vary by location. Stores will be closed on New Year’s Day.

• 1202 W Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove

Costco: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and will be closed on New Year’s Day.

• 25901 Riverwoods Road, Mettawa

CVS: Many locations, including those open 24 hours, will be open regular hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Some pharmacies may have reduced hours. Customers are encouraged to call ahead to confirm hours at their preferred locations.

• 20 E Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove

Jewel-Osco: Stores will be open but close at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Stores will be open regular hours on New Year’s Day.

• 79 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove

Mariano’s: Stores will close at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reopen at 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

• 450 W Half Day Road, Buffalo Grove

Sam’s Club: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve and will be closed on New Year’s Day.

• Marketplace at Vernon Hills, 335 N Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills

Target: Stores will be open regular hours.

• 1400 E Lake Cook Road, Wheeling

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Stores will be closed on New Year’s Day.

• 17 W Rand Road, Arlington Heights

Walgreens: Walgreens stores will be open during regular business hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Twenty-four-hour Walgreens locations and 24-hour pharmacies will remain open.

Walmart: Stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
