Motorcyclist Killed After Collision With Car In Buffalo Grove: Police

The 24-year-old Schaumburg resident was pronounced dead at an area hospital following the Thursday night crash.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A 24-year-old Schaumburg man was killed Thursday night after colliding his motorcycle with a sedan. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the deceased as Rane Pyter.

The crash occurred on northbound Arlington Heights Road at Plum Grove Circle at around 5:30 p.m. according to Buffalo Grove police. The Buffalo Grove Fire Department took Pyter to Endeavor Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the sedan was evaluated at the scene and released, and is cooperating with the investigation. No citations or charges have been issued at this time.

A portion of Arlington Heights Road was shut down for approximately four hours due to the incident.

The crash is being investigated by the Buffalo Grove Police Department's traffic unit with assistance from the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
