New Principal Named At Buffalo Grove Elementary School: District

Colleen Goodrich will assume the role at Kilmer Elementary School on July 1, according to Community Consolidated School District 21.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Kilmer Elementary School will soon have a new principal. Colleen Goodrich, currently an assistant principal in North Shore School District 112, will begin in the role on July 1.

Goodrich replaces Annette McBride, who is stepping down from the position after two years, according to Community Consolidated School District 21.

"I am so honored and filled with pride to step into this role," Goodrich said. "Throughout the interview process, it was very, very clear that the positive, optimistic culture of not only the district, but Kilmer itself, just flowed."

Last year, Goodrich was named the Illinois Principals Association's Assistant Principal of the Year and also joined the 2023 class of the National Association of Elementary School Principals' National Outstanding Assistant Principals.

Prior to her role in District 112, Goodrich was an elementary school teacher and coach in Schaumburg School District 54.

In their recommendation of her approval, district administrators said Goodrich distinguished herself as "a reflective, student-centered, caring educator."
