Nominations Sought For Community Service Award In Buffalo Grove

The award is named after Bill Reid, the late Village Trustee, affectionately known as "Mr. Buffalo Grove."

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Heralded as a "beacon of community service and dedication," Bill Reid made a difference in the local community. Reid, the late Village trustee known as "Mr. Buffalo Grove," died in 2000, but his legacy lives on.

The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove recently announced it is accepting nominations for the 2024 Bill Reid Award. The "prestigious" award seeks to honor and recognize outstanding individuals in the community who have demonstrated "a long-term commitment to enhancing the spirit and betterment of Buffalo Grove."

  • Nomination deadline — All nominations must be received by June 10
  • Award ceremony — The recipient will be honored at a public ceremony, which will include the presentation of a recognition plaque and contributions of $250 to both the charity of the recipient's choice and The Rotary Foundation in the recipient’s name. Additionally, the recipient's name will be inscribed on the permanent award recognition plaque located in the lobby of Village Hall, located at 50 Raupp Blvd.
  • Event date — The award presentation will take place at an upcoming summer/fall Rotary Club luncheon or community event.
