NSYMCA Community Art Gallery features Photographer Brian Kabat
All work is for sale and portion of the proceeds benefit the NSYMCA Visual Arts
Northbrook, IL: December 2023 – North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery is showcasing local artist and photographer Brian Kabat throughout the month of December and January. All of the work featured will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Visual Arts department of the NSYMCA.
Brian Kabat’s love of photography started in the early 2000s and stems from his love for the arts in general. A lifelong performing musician, and school music teacher since 1988, Kabat’s life has been greatly influenced by the arts since a young boy.
“I began taking frequent walks outdoors and found nature to be peaceful and inspiring, bringing a camera with me to try to capture my experiences,” says Kabat. “I found myself becoming very serious about my newfound passion.”

Kabat’s photography also includes cityscapes, still life, events, and portraiture. “I believe that a good photograph--whatever the subject may be--helps to capture the mood of a place or an event so that others can experience that emotional connection--just like a good piece of music does,” continues Kabat.
The NSYMCA’s Community Gallery celebrates the diversely talented artists living and working in Chicago’s northern suburbs with monthly exhibits that are free and open to the public.
