Parks And Public Services Day Returns In Buffalo Grove

The family-friendly event, part of National Public Works Week 2024, is planned for Saturday at Mike Rylko Community Park.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — As part of Kids to Parks Day and a kickoff to National Public Works Week 2024, the Village of Buffalo Grove and the Buffalo Grove Park District are teaming up for the annual Parks and Public Services Day this Saturday. The family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mike Rylko Community Park.

According to organizers, planned activities include:

  • Touch-a-Truck.
  • Hands-on activities and crafts.
  • Equipment and vehicle demonstrations beginning at 11 a.m.
  • Free custard from Culver's

Attendees will also have the chance to win raffle prizes from event sponsors and local businesses. Prizes include wristbands to the 2024 Buffalo Grove Days carnival, free plays at WJ Golf and Bowlero, passes to Park District facilities and events, Buffalo Grove merchandise and a customized street sign inscribed with the winner's name.

The event will take place in the park’s southern parking lot, located at 951 McHenry Road, adjacent to the Spray 'N Play. Parking for the event will be available next to the Buffalo Grove Golf Dome.
