Pedestrian, 87, Struck, Killed By Car: Buffalo Grove PD
The crash occurred at around 8 a.m. Monday and shut down traffic for several hours.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Monday morning following a crash on Buffalo Grove Road. Police said the 87-year-old Buffalo Grove resident was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old resident of Buffalo Grove, was also taken to the hospital by the Buffalo Grove Fire Department for precautionary reasons.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Larraway Drive following the crash involving a Toyota sedan traveling southbound on Buffalo Grove Road. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no citations nor charges have been filed at this time.

BGPD's Traffic Unit and Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are conducting the investigation.
Buffalo Grove Road, between Thompson Boulevard and Deerfield Parkway, was closed for approximately four hours due to the incident and was reopened by noon.
