Pending Snowstorm Closes Buffalo Grove High School Friday

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Add Buffalo Grove High School to the growing list of Chicagoland area schools closed Friday due to a pending snowstorm. With upwards of 8 inches predicted in some areas, "travel could be very difficult to impossible,"according to the National Weather Service.

• Aptakisic-Tripp District 102 (Buffalo Grove) — closed Friday, e-learning
• Kildeer Countryside District 96 (Buffalo Grove) — closed Friday, no evening activities
• Meridan Middle School (Buffalo Grove) — closed Friday, e-learning
• Tripp Elementary School (Buffalo Grove) — closed Friday, e-learning

Nearby, Wheeling Community Consolidated School District 21 will be holding an e-learning day Friday, while Wheeling High School is closed.

In Buffalo Grove, temperature fare expected to fall to near 25 by 8 p.m. NWS predicts wind could gust as high as 20 mph with a 100 percent of precipitation Thursday night. Nighttime snow totals could be between 1 and 3 inches.

For Friday, snow is predicted throughout the morning, before mixing with rain between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. NWS said it will then turn to all snow, with 5 to 9 inches possible, and gusts as high as 30 mph.
