Pennant Banners: Five Ways Simple Signage Goes A Long Way
The many versatile uses of pennant banners for getting noticed.

When you think of signage, more often than not you think of the big signs that hang above your brick and mortar, such as your business name sign. You may also think of the signs above the aisles at a grocery store, the sale signage at a department store, or even the mattress store you pass who has the person dressed as a mattress mascot swinging a “We Have Mattresses For You” sign around. What you might not realize is that signage isn’t always obvious. For instance, pennant signage. They are typically triangular, made out of felt, canvas or nylon, and are held up by plastic, wood or string. You’ll often see these around car dealership openings and grand openings for grocery stores. Why are they so appealing? Because they are versatile and here’s why:
1. They are fantastic for additional decoration or an added splash of color for promoting your business. It’s proven that things that draw the eye are more likely to garner attention. When you surround your business with a bunch of small, yet colorful pennant banners, it’s impossible not to notice. Using these small flags as simple decoration could be just as effective as a fifty foot screen and a bull horn.
2. They aren’t just for hanging. Pennant banner signs can be posted rather than hung. Using the analogy of the car dealership, posting a large pennant sign at the entrance to the lot can be just as effective as using hundreds of smaller pennant signs around the length of the business.

3. Personalize it for a party. If you have a friend returning from home after a year long’s service abroad, you’re going to want to decorate. Use the pennant signs to personalize the welcome home specifically to your friend. Change the shape, colors, add wording to them, or connect more than one in a row.
4. Spread the love by giving it as a gift. If you’re planning on running a fundraiser and want to have a hand out with your charities motto on it, use a small pennant banner.

5. Support your cause or team and give your car wings. When driving down the highway, you often see small flags hanging out of the sides of cars. Most recently, you’ve seen the flying “W” around Chicago for the Cubs. Support your own team, business or cause, and give your car wings as well.
There are a myriad of ways to utilize pennant signage. Not only are they customizable to you and your business’ needs, but they get the job done effectively and without too much fuss. Sometimes the simplest option garners the greatest results.
