The enforcement campaign was conducted from April 1 through April 30.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — In April, there were 29 citations for hands-free law violations and 46 total citations, according to Buffalo Grove police. The citations were part of a Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign conducted from April 1 through April 30.

“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives,” Sergeant Tony Turano said. “This increased enforcement was implemented to help motorists avoid the often-deadly consequences of distracted driving with a simple reminder: Drop it and drive.”

The Buffalo Grove Police Department joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement, and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.
