Missing Buffalo Grove Man Found Dead In Field
The physical therapist, found dead Monday, is being investigated for an allegation at his workplace.

WAUCONDA, IL — Police have identified the man found dead in the 2000 block of North Rand Road in Wauconda as a Buffalo Grove resident who was reported missing two days earlier. At around 9 a.m. Monday, police responded to the area for reports of a suspicious vehicle. Police who arrived on the scene found the vehicle, later determined to belong to missing person Paul Carr, with blood inside.
Carr, 41, a physical therapist, had been reported missing by his wife, who called police just before 10 p.m. Saturday saying he had never come home from work, Buffalo Grove police say. She told police she had expected him home at noon but had not heard from him.
Sunday morning, police again spoke to Carr's wife, who said he still had not returned, and began treating his disappearance as a missing person case.

Carr's vehicle, found Monday by Wauconda police, had "a large amount of blood inside," WGN9 reported.
Police reportedly used a drone and K9 unit to search the area and later found Carr dead in the Wauconda Forest Preserve, close to where his car was discovered. Carr's body was reportedly found in a cornfield at the preserve.

At the time Carr went missing, there was no active criminal investigation, but Buffalo Grove police said they are now investigating an allegation against Carr at his place of work. Police did not release any details on that investigation.
Carr's autopsy says a Tuesday autopsy found he was killed by "sharp force trauma," and a toxicology panel is pending. Carr's family has been in contact with the coroner's office, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said.
