Police Release Thanksgiving Safety Campaign Results In Buffalo Grove
During the campaign, Buffalo Grove police conducted 92 traffic stops between Nov. 18 and Nov. 28.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Local police departments were out in full force during the recent Thanksgiving holiday. Between Nov. 18 and Nov. 28, Buffalo Grove police conducted 92 traffic stops as a part of the statewide "Click It Or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns.
According to police, the citations in Buffalo Grove were:
- 34 seat belt citations
- 1 child car seat citations
- 1 DUI arrest
- 1 suspended/revoked license arrest
- 21 speeding citations
Buffalo Grove police, along with other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois, conducted the campaign to reduce crashes and their resulting injuries and fatalities, according to a news release.

"Our officers patrol year-round to keep motorists buckled up and to keep impaired drivers off the roads,"Sergeant Tony Turano said. "We do this to save lives and ensure all of us make it home safely at the end of the day."
According to police, the Thanksgiving enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
