Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) visited Whitman Elementary School on Tuesday, November 5. Fourth grade students kicked off the visit by leading Congressman Schneider on a walking tour of Whitman. Schneider participated in an interactive Spanish language activity with third grade dual language students and later visited with pre-kindergarten students and their parents, who were at Whitman for Family Engagement Day.

“We appreciate the opportunity to show Congressman Schneider, first hand, the incredible things happening in our school every day,” said Jennifer Kiedaisch, principal of Whitman Elementary School. “Our learners take great pride in their growth and were thrilled to showcase their accomplishments.”

Schneider also met with Superintendent Dr. Michael Connolly, Principal Jennifer Kiedaisch, and CCSD21 Board members Staci Allan, Arlen Gould, Bill Harrison, Debbi McAtee, and Jessica Riddick, before his tour. The group highlighted the many successes of School District 21 and also discussed the impact of federal decisions on schools and the community.
