Resource Officers Will Be Present At CCSD21 Schools Next Year
The addition of the SROs at three middle schools is the result of a partnership between the Villages of Buffalo Grove and Wheeling.

WHEELING, IL — Several local middle schools in Community Consolidated School District 21 will have school resource officers on-site starting next year. A partnership between the Villages of Buffalo Grove and Wheeling will result in three police officers at the school starting with the 2023-2024 school year.
According to officials, two police officers from Wheeling will be assigned to Holmes Middle School and London Middle School, respectively. In addition, a Buffalo Grove police officer will be serving as an SRO at Cooper Middle School.
"SROs are uniquely prepared to support our students and families towards good behavior and being positive community members," CCSD21 Superintendent Dr. Michael Connolly said.

The district will share the cost of the officers with each village, according to the district. SRO agreements with each village were approved last week at the CCSD21 board meeting, followed by approval by the Buffalo Grove and Wheeling Village Boards this week.
"Buffalo Grove is happy to partner with School District 21 on the school resource officer program. The services and resources SROs provide to the school staff, students and their families is invaluable," Buffalo Grove Village Manager Dane Bragg said.
