Riverside Foundation "Hearts of Gold" Gala

Riverside Foundation Celebrates 40 years of Serving Adults with Disabilities at the "Hearts of Gold" Gala on Saturday, February, 27, 2016

Riverside Foundation will celebrate 40 years of improving the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the annual “Hearts of Gold” gala on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. Proceeds directly benefit the not-for-profit community based organization, which serves adults with moderate to severe disabilities. Riverside Foundation operates a residential facility in Lincolnshire, a work and activity center in Vernon Hills and small group homes in Grayslake and Gurnee.

The black-tie optional evening includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, music by “Maggie Speaks,” a grand raffle and a variety of unique live and silent auction items and experiences.

“The Riverside Gala is a fun evening out with an important purpose. The money raised that night helps change the lives of the special individuals who depend on the warm, supportive care and training that Riverside provides,” said Peggy Gaier (Lake Forest), president of the Riverside Women’s Board, the volunteer support group for Riverside Foundation.

Riverside Foundation’s 2016 Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger at the gala. In addition, Riverside Foundation will invite all of the previous Women’s Board presidents and members to share in a special Ruby Award, honoring the organization for its crucial support.

“It is a pleasure to honor Leslie Munger and the Women’s Board for their decades of generous fundraising and assistance. Leslie has been an active Women’s Board member for many years, a member of the Riverside Board of Directors and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2013. The Women’s Board is an amazing body of women, who have contributed to and enhanced Riverside through their volunteer activities and fundraising events” said Debbie Rogers, executive director of Riverside Foundation.
