Riverside Foundation Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

The Excitement Begins on November 1st

Riverside Foundation in Lincolnshire has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Riverside Foundation is a not-for-profit social service agency that is celebrating over 40 years of service to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We provide a loving and comfortable home-like setting at our main residential campus in Lincolnshire and our group homes in Grayslake, Gurnee and Wildwood. Our clients are engaged in purposeful and meaningful work and activities at our Work and Activity Center located in Vernon Hills.

The Coleman Foundation, an independent grant making foundation that supports institutions providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will support Riverside’s goal to raise $30,000 by offering a matching grant up to a maximum of $10,000. The offer extended to Riverside for donations made ONLINE on #GivingTuesday, November 28th and for an additional 72 hour window November 1st, 2nd and 3rd is as follows:

Tier One Offer – a $25 match for individual donors making a gift between $25 and $99

Tier Two Offer – a $100 match for individual donors making a gift of $100 or more.

One donation per individual will be matched in each of the #GivingTuesday and early window time periods. This year you do not need to be a new donor to qualify for the match!

The funds raised will be used to subsidize delicious and nutritious meals for Riverside residents and to enhance the meals for our residents who remain at Riverside during holiday times.
