Patient's Lawsuit Blames Kidney Damage on Lack of Monitoring
The lawsuit against NorthShore University Health System claims a drug the patient was taking caused the damage.

A patient is blaming a doctor and NorthShore University Health System for not properly monitoring him while he was on medication that caused kidney damage, the Cook County Record reports.
Alexander Zubatov is suing Evanston-based NorthShore, as well as Dr. Sofiya Elterman, NorthShore University Healthsystem Faculty Practic Associates and NorthShore Medical Group, accusing the defendants of vicarious liability, according to the Record. The lawsuit was filed June 2 in Cook County Circuit Court.
Zubatov claims he suffered acute kidney injury from using the drug Truvada because the doctor and medical group didn't properly monitor him he was taking the medication, the report stated. He's asking for a jury to reward him an amount that would cover costs for the damage he incurred.
