Schneider Talks Afghanistan During Town Hall In Wheeling

WHEELING, IL – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) discussed infrastructure investment and the recent developments in Afghanistan with constituents at his “Congress On Your Corner” Thursday in Wheeling.

“I was grateful to hear from constituents in Wheeling on Thursday about infrastructure and the ongoing evacuations in Afghanistan," Schneider said in a news release. "The scenes from Afghanistan are truly heart-wrenching. So many people who have helped America’s mission in Afghanistan, who have worked side by side with our troops, our diplomats our NGOs, are now at grave risk."

Schneider recently joined a group of bipartisan colleagues asking the Biden Administration for more information on what Congress can do to assist with the evacuation efforts in Afghanistan, according to the news release.

"We must help those who help us. I am proud that my office has already successfully assisted several people make their way to the Kabul airport and then safely out of the country," Schneider said. "I will continue to monitor the situation in Afghanistan and continue fighting to deliver the federal infrastructure investment that communities like Wheeling deserve."
