Sente Invites Local Green Advocates to Participate in Environmental Advisory Committee
State Rep. Sente invites residents to her environmental council on Mon 3/13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m at the Laschen Center

VERNON HILLS, Ill. – State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, is inviting local residents to join her for a candid discussion on environmental initiatives and legislation during her Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, March 13 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Vernon Hills Park District's Laschen Center located at 294 Evergreen Dr. in Vernon Hills
“During our meeting, local residents and organizations passionate about the environment will be able to engage in a candid discussion focused on sustainability initiatives and translating those efforts into impactful statewide environmental policy,” Sente said. “Everyone has a stake in our planet’s longevity and therefore we must all remain engaged by having community meetings focused on preserving our natural resources and protecting the environment for future generations to enjoy.”
As Vice-Chairwoman of the House Environmental Committee, Sente recently introduced House Bill 3132 to remove unnecessary barriers to organic composting initiatives throughout the state. Sente will provide an overview on her legislation, which was inspired by an idea brought to her by a local resident, as well as other environmental initiatives being discussed in Springfield. Special guest, Jen Walling, Executive Director of the Illinois Environment Council, will also be in attendance to provide an update on environmental legislation.
