Sente Invites Seniors to Learn About Government Services at Free Resource Fair

Lincolnshire, Ill. – State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, is co-hosting a Senior Services Showcase with the Vernon Area Public Library on Wednesday, June 25, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the library located at 300 Olde Half Day Road in Lincolnshire.

“As the primary caregiver for an aging parent, I have had to quickly familiarize myself the resources available to assist Illinois seniors and hope to make the process more efficient for those in a similar position,” Sente said. “It is my hope that this event will allow local seniors to conveniently familiarize themselves with available government services that they or a loved one could potentially benefit from.”

At the event, a variety of local, county, and state agencies that offer savings, exemptions, programs or services for seniors will be present. In addition to having the opportunity to learn about senior services, participants will also be able to enjoy free refreshments and raffle prizes provided by the library and local businesses.

“Since first taking office, one of my goals has been to make government as convenient and effective as possible,” Sente said. “This event serves as a great way for me to help members of our senior community, while simultaneously gathering feedback on the diverse issues affecting our state’s aging population. I look forward to seeing many of our local seniors at this event.”
