Serious Amusement

real time life and it's meanings

It's February the shortest month of the year. It brings us that much closer to summer. See time, is on a short leach. It matters if you live in winter climates. Not so much, if you live near the equator. When you're young, you have the time of your life, less responsibilities and your body is growing bigger and stronger. Once we reach middle age, responsibilities can weigh us down and our bodies head downhill with momentum. We actually wish to slow down time.

It's like you plan a vacation to an amusement park. You anticipate excitement waiting in line for the roller-coaster. The tension builds as you ride up that first giant hill. You pick up speed, lots of speed going down the hill and whipping around the corners and even being upside down. It happens so fast and then it's over. sort of like life, as it nears the end. Time stands still, for a brief moment, as you catch your breath and your heart rate begins to recover.

In our lifetimes, we experience all the thrills and all pitfalls, unless it gets cut short from under us. If we get dislodged and fall too far off the track, bodily harm befuddles us. When we tightened our seat belts and are secure in the safety of the ride, the outcome is much better. If we enjoy the ride, we go again- this is our second chance in life. When we take on more responsibilities ( I've been fortunate to have adopting a child and many dogs) then the rewards multiply for more entities. It extends time. Which brings you to March, affording you an extra couple of days. It can actually slow down time. Isn't life weird?
