Spring Into Warmer Weather: Six Tips For Your Yard And Home
Here are a few basic maintenance tips for getting your yard and home ready for warmer weather.

When the snow wanes and rain washes the dirt away, what are you left with? A whole lot of work. Spring means rebirth and rebirth means… It’s time to clean. So, gather up the rakes, spades, shears and shovels, and put your best gloves on. Here are a few basic maintenance tips for getting your yard and home ready for warmer weather.
Yard:
Start weeding! Not only are the weeds from the before first snow fall still there, but new ones are starting to grow. Remember that old adage, “Growing like a weed?” There’s a reason for it. They continue to grow even when nothing else does.

Start the machines! Before the grass really gets a chance to sprout, make sure that all of your tractors, mowers and weed wackers are working properly.
Start bedding! Early spring is prime time for creating new bedding and reorganizing your landscaping. So, start spreading mulch, carving out pieces of land for flower beds, and trimming bushes and trees.

Start planting! Once you’ve gotten the heavy maintenance out of the way, it’s time to start the fun part, planting! If you don’t have a natural green thumb, make sure to research or asked experienced gardeners what to plant where and when.
Home:
Clean your gutters! The longer you put it off, the worse it will be to clean. Start unclogging them now so that when the ever expected “spring showers” roll in they can roll off without damaging your roofing, siding or foundation.
Check your shingles! Make sure your roof is sound. Cold weather and heavy snow can destroy shingles just as easily as torrential down pours or gusty rain storms.
Check your foundation! You’ve seen how cold weather can wreak havoc to our roads: it can also damage your home’s foundation. Make sure there are no cracks on either the base or up the siding.
Check your AC! Cold weather can be brutal on us, but it’s also brutal on our appliances. Make sure your AC is working properly before the hot weather hits. Better to be over prepared than under prepared.
With the cold weather swiftly leaving, warm weather and all its complexities begin to sneak in. That’s why it’s a good idea to make sure your home is insured. Storms can leave behind a plethora of damage; undoing all of the work you’ve done. Make sure you’re prepared so that all of your hard work isn’t for naught.
