Stevenson Reopens Friday, Boil Order Still In Effect
The boil order remains in effect for Stevenson and all water customers in the village of Lincolnshire.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL -- Classes are back in session Friday at Adlai E. Stevenson High School but a boil order remains in effect after a water main break in the village lead to low water pressure, school officials said Friday. The water flow issues forced school officials to dismiss classes at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. Shortly after that, the village of Lincolnshire issued the boil order for all of its water customers.
On Friday, Stevenson officials said normal water pressure has been restored. But with the boil order still in effect, bottled water was being made available to all staff and students. The boil order also continues to be in effect for all residents living in Lincolnshire.
The Vernon Area Public Library also closed Thursday but planned to reopen Friday.
After-school activities at Stevenson scheduled for Thursday were cancelled. Information on rescheduled activities can be found on Stevenson’s Facebook page.
