Tamale Workshop

Tamales are a traditional food at many family gatherings and come in a number of delicious varieties. In this festive class, guests will first learn how to make a versatile Sweet Corn Masa Dough. Then, they will be able to choose from a variety of chef-prepared fillings, including Pollo en Salsa Verde, Mixed Mushroom, Chipotle Chorizo, and Roasted Red Pepper Rajas. While the Husk-Wrapped Tamales steam, guests will also learn how to prepare fresh Ensalada de Jicama and will taste an assortment of salsas and sauces that go perfectly with tamales.

Sunset’s Tamale Workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 5th from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Sunset Foods Long Grove Cooking Studio.

Advance registration is required for all Sunset Foods cooking classes and demonstrations. Those wishing to attend this event should visit this page to sign up as soon as possible. Please note that attendance for this unique event is limited and that registration occurs on a first come, first served basis. Admission to this event is $65. Each station can accommodate a 2nd person for just $15 more.
