Notice about April 4, 2017 Municipal Election
On April 4, 2017, all municipalities in Illinois will hold elections to select their leaders for the next 4 years.
In order for a resident to be a candidate on the ballot, he or she must submit petitions containing signatures equal to 5%-8% of the ballots cast in the last municipal election. Submitting a valid petition allows the name of that person to be placed on the ballot.

The elected positions to be chosen in Buffalo Grove are:
Village Trustee (4 Year Terms) - 3 board seats

You may be asked to sign a petition for someone who wishes to be a candidate for one of these positions. You may only sign a maximum of three petitions for Village Trustee.
Signing a petition does not mean that you are required to vote for that person. What you are doing is simply allowing that person to appear on the ballot as a candidate.
