Townhome Fire Displaces Residents: Buffalo Grove FD

The six units were deemed "uninhabitable" following the Saturday fire that caused nearly $1 million in damage.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A fire at a townhome displaced a number of residents, and caused $950,000 in damage, Saturday in the 300 block of Le Parc Circle. No occupants were found in any of the six townhome units.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

According to officials, Buffalo Grove firefighters were dispatched to the townhome at around 12:25 p.m. following a report of smoke in one of the units. Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes and found the fire on the second floor of a unit. The alarm was upgraded twice for additional assistance.

Firefighters began an aggressive interior attack, and when checking other units, found smoke and evidence that the fire had spread. Officials said the fire was well advance by the time crews arrived. The fire was brought under control within an hour.

Two cats were found alive and were rescued. One firefighter reported a minor injury.

All units have been deemed uninhabitable, and the building department was notified. Damage is estimated at $950,000.
