Village Website Revived After Being Down 5 Days
The Village of Buffalo Grove's website was down for more than 110 hours due to a "catastrophic" hardware failure by the vendor.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The Village of Buffalo Grove is looking for a new website vendor. The website was down and non-operational for more than 110 hours between Thursday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday due to a hardware vendor.
Intrado, the Village's website vendor, suffered a "catastrophic" hardware failure and their cloud backup also failed, according to a social media post. Per the contract with Intrado, the website should've been restored within 72 hours.
In the post, the Village told residents it was not a cybersecurity breach and it does not store any resident information on the website. The Village also said it will not charge any late fees associated with payments due when the website was down.

Village staff are currently researching vendor option sand will be securing a new vendor in the future, according to the post.
