Water Main Break Forces Buffalo Grove Homes To Boil Water: Village

Residents in at least 21 homes are being asked to boil water for the next 24 to 48 hours.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A water main break, affecting 21 homes on Westchester Drive, has resulted in a precautionary boil order. A representative from the Village of Buffalo Grove tells Patch a public works crew is on site to repair the break.

The boil order is in place due to the loss of pressure. The water will then be tested following the repair, according to the Village. Affected residents will receive direct notice when the boil order is lifted. Boil orders can take between 24 and 48 hours to be resolved.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for three to five minutes before being used for cooking or drinking, according to the Cook County Department of Health.
