Wheeling Man Charged With 10th DUI After Hit-and-Run
The drunken driver was pulled over following a hit-and-run crash in Wheeling Tuesday, police said.

A 38-year-old Wheeling man faces his 10th DUI charge after he was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash in Wheeling Tuesday night.
Bail has been set at $250,000 for Luis Basilio, of the 200 block of 7th Street in Wheeling, who remains in custody at the Cook County Jail Thursday afternoon on his latest DUI charge, according to online jail records.
Basilio was heading south on Wheeling Road near Exchange Court when he sideswiped a car northbound on Wheeling at about 7:50 p.m., according to the Daily Herald. Basilio drove away from crash but a witness and the driver of the car he collided with followed him.

They called police who pulled Basilio over and arrested him after he showed signs of intoxication, the Daily Herald reports.
During the course of racking up his prior DUIs, Basilio used four different aliases, according to the Chicago Tribune. He was charged with four years in prison in 2005 for a felony DUI and was charged with eight misdemeanor DUIs between 1996 and 2003.

If convicted of his 10th DUI, Basilio could face up to 30 years in prison, the Chicago Tribune reports.
