Woman Gives Children THC Candy At Wheeling Park: Police
Four children became fatigued and sluggish after consuming the candy Sunday at Pleasant Run/Four Acres Park.
WHEELING, IL — A woman is accused of giving children THC candy Sunday afternoon at Pleasant Run/Four Acres Park. According to police, the four children became fatigued and sluggish after consuming the candy, and were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Medical staff confirmed that one of the children tested positive for THC, a psychoactive compound found in cannabis.
The woman is described as white, approximately 50 to 60 years of age, heavyset, with a blue cross tattoo on her shoulder. She was last seen wearing a blue and white leather jacket and walking southbound from the park.

Police responded to the park at around 3:31 p.m., and during a search of the area, found a product labeled "Mojo THC Milk Chocolate," which they believe is connected to the incident.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

"The safety and well-being of our community, especially our children, remains our top priority," Michael Conway, deputy chief of police, said in a news release.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the woman, or who may have witnessed the incident, to contact the Wheeling Police Department at 847-459-2632.
