The Link Together Coalition along with the Buffalo Grove and Wheeling Police Departments kicked off “YOUR ACTIONS MATTER!” This youth-led initiative was developed by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and was a great success!
High school and middle school students from Wheeling and Buffalo Grove, along with police officers from those communities, visited 18 stores that sell liquor and distributed over 5,000 bottle hangers with a message about not providing alcohol to minors. The materials carry a positive message and were designed by the young people themselves.
Most adults do not provide alcohol to minors. However, this campaign reminds us that "Your Actions Matter" and preventing underage drinking is everyone's responsibility.
